Rocky Mountain Big Game Recovery-June 17th, 2023

One of the many exciting avenues we have embarked on is becoming extremely active participants of the Rocky Mountain Big Game Recovery Chapter. We are currently the only members based out of Utah, but the chapter itself is growing exponentially. We love the connections and conversations we have had through their community. This year we were asked by the Utah State Division of Wildlife Resources to host a booth at a state shooting range open house in Salt Lake City, UT. We had a great time teaching hunters and other sportsman about our chapter, the work we do, and building awareness to the use and benefit of having legal tracking dogs in the state. We will be attending next year to continue to build the presents and spread the awareness. We are excited to share more tracking info and stories as the time passes on.

Canyonlands Canine Association Summer Show-June 16th, 2023

Cheers to Lottie and another success round in the showing ring! On June 16th we entered just one day of showing at the local UKC show and she blew us away by taking home yet another first place in the gun dog group earning herself a 1/2 of a leg towards her Grand Championship. We are very pleased with her improvements through showing, her desire to "show off" in the ring, and her free stacking has come such a long ways. We look forward to more shows and seeing just what more she can surprise us with.

Canyonlands Canine Association Spring Show-March 17-19th, 2023

A big "Wahoo!" for Lottie's successful weekend at the spring UKC conformation show. Lottie not only took Best of Class, Sex, and Breed, but she also won 1st in the Gun dog group and then went on to finish her championship by taking home a Reserve Best In Show. A huge THANK YOU to not only our friend who handled her during breed, but also to our judge, Mr. Keith Kozakiewicz, who selected our girl. Lottie will now be working towards her grand and I'm so excited to see how she progresses.

Not all who participate in conformation believe that UKC holds a lot of ground in their judgements, but what I really appreciate about UKC is that it's given us an opportunity to learn by doing without the pressure that the AKC rings bring. I'm extremely grateful for all of the advice, the tips, the tricks, the confidence, and the practice that we have received over the last year and a half while participating in the UKC shows. I also have to give a big thanks to the club and the members who run the whole show. Between the organizers and the participants you can't find a better place to enter the show ring.
